The Infrastructure Project Manager is a highly visible role to assist in scaling and improving the infrastructure for a fast-growing technology company. The Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management of multiple infrastructure projects affecting Flexera’s global operations. This position has responsibility for the success and implementation of all infrastructure projects and to lead the organization in the adoption of project management best practices.
Job Requirements
• Manages project initiation, planning, execution, control and closure using proven infrastructure project management methodologies.
• Maintain a solid Infrastructure Project Methodology practice to support multiple concurrent enterprise initiatives
• Strong technical requirements gathering focus and ability to collaborate with different teams to ensure all requirements are documented.
• Strong knowledge of telecom, storage, Active Directory, network and security technologies.
• Ability to understand and define project requirements and set priorities based on business needs. Adjust priorities in accordance with business direction.
• Communicate status to project stakeholders and the IT team.
• Creates and manages project plan and budget.
• Manages project scope and change management processes
• Identifies and manages project issues and risks
• Estimates work effort and manages resource constraints
• Directs the work and performance of the Flexera project resources and assists the IT Director in providing assignments
• Executes Quality Assurance reviews of projects
• Formalizes project acceptance criteria and obtains approvals
• Conducts project lessons-learned reviews and incorporates improvements into future projects.
• Manages contractors and vendors as resources on assigned projects
• Assists with vendor selection and establishing success criteria by taking notes at all meetings and distributing them to the appropriate parties
• Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· 5-8 years related work experience
· Experience with project/resource management tools, resource planning, risk management, and project management life cycle processes and disciplines.
· Proven ability to perform business analysis and document project requirements.
· Proven ability to manage multiple Infrastructure projects in a global environment.
· Demonstrated strong communication, presentation, documentation, and technical writing skills.
· Knowledge of ITIL best practices. ITIL certification a plus.
· Experience facilitating meetings involving customers and technical staff, including building consensus and mediating compromises when necessary.
· Ability to hold all project resources accountable and escalate as necessary.
· Experience in managing infrastructure projects in a real time, 24X7 environment involving numerous systems and subsystems and interdependencies.
· Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, strong judgment, and decision-making abilities.
· Demonstrated ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts and technologies.
· Experience producing status reports for multiple audiences, including general project parameters and knowledge of statistical analysis.
· Personable but knows how to drive timelines and escalate as needed
· Willingness to accept responsibilities outside the explicitly defined role.
