Embedded Software Test Engineer

 

Location: Cleveland, OH

Job Description:

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Working knowledge of the software development life cycle.
• Direct experience in the use, configuration of, or technical support of automation software and hardware.
• Experience designing and coding software using common development tools. (C++, C#)
• Typically one to three years experience in Software and/or Embedded Software Testing, Software Development, Applications Engineering work, Technical Support, or other Quality Assurance role.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Proficiency in the development and execution of risk based testing.
• Basic understanding of object oriented programming techniques
• Experience working in an Agile environment (SCRUM methodology preferred)

Functional
• Excellent knowledge of software test engineering methods and tools
• Ability to estimate, plan, develop, and execute tests: functional, integration, performance, stress, etc.
• Ability to debug complex issues and perform non-systematic testing to determine the root cause of issues.
• Ability to develop/write software programs
• Work closely with development engineering, requirements analysts and others to ensure proper resolution of anomalies.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision, and to prioritize and execute multiple activities in parallel.
• Ensure documented test cases and specifications validate documented software requirements.
• Proven track record of developing complex test strategies, executing multiple concurrent tests, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
• Actively participate in peer reviews: requirements, code, design, and test as required.
• Utilize automated test tools and methods to ensure full functional coverage is attained.
• Creative thinking in designing test scenarios and test cases; self-motivated and quick to learn new areas.

Responsibilities:

 

- Strong in web/CS applications Testing (activities include: Test Case design, Test Case execution, raise quality defects, defect triage, bug fix verification, metrics, status reporting) minimum 5-6 years of exp.

- Should have hands-on exp in functional, SIT, UAT areas

- Excellent client interfacing skills

- Strong Communication skills (oral & written)

- Should be highly knowledgeable on Wynsure software platform spanning across different insurance LOBs like policy administration, claims and billing solutions across Life & Annuities (L&A), disability, health, and Property & Casualty (P&C).

- Knowledge on the Wynsure modules like Product Factory, Billing, Claims and Commissions.

- Understand the customizations done by the client.

- QTP Automation scripting of the test cases for the modules in scope - min 3-4 years hands-on

- Hands-on exp with QC/Test Management Tool

- Should have at least 1 project implementation in Wynsure platform upgrade.  Having hands-on exp in Wynsure 4.2/4.6 product is a plus.
