Description:  

 

Platform Engineering’s mission is to provide IT Platform integrity, Engineering Design standards, Deployment planning & Execution, Metrics analytics & reporting, Capacity Planning, project charter assistance and Tier 4 support escalations. Platform Engineering provides technology leadership, policy, procedures, standards and implementation skill sets for the IT department.

The Storage Engineer can expect mid to high complexity in the technology field dedicated to our Stability and Scalability program assisting in relocation our current Datacenters to CoLo facilities.

Requirements:

•Fluent English and high oral and written communication skills

•Proficiency with architectural definition, specification, design, testing and hands on solutions of innovative solutions to solving our Business needs.

•Leadership roles within the IT organization

•Ability to act independently to drive IT goals and changes

•Strong commitment to technical excellence and teamwork

•Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

•Be able to judge priorities and adjust their work accordingly

•6-8 Years’ experience as a member of a Tier 4 Engineering position

•Advanced troubleshooting methodology

•Hands on experience in debugging and fixing production related problems that are escalated

•Standard proficiency in Interpersonal skills and Organization Strategy

•Above Standard proficiency in Leadership, Communications, Motivation, Administration and Organization Knowledge

•Significantly Above Standard proficiency in Thinking

Proficient in various vendor’s (HDS, EMC, etc) storage platform technologies (SAN/NAS/FLASH) including architecture, operational procedures related to management and monitoring of various storage software/hardware components.

•Must have working experience with HDS (VSP, HUS-VM, HUS series and AMS) and EMC VNX series.

•Experience in implementing local recovery and disaster recovery

•Experience in managing FC/FCoE Switches – Cisco MDS series

•Advance knowledge of SAN best practices for VMware, Windows and Linux operating system.

•Expert understanding SAN technology, Tiered Storage, Dynamic pool, performance tuning, etc.

•Understanding of latest I/O technologies including 10Gb Ethernet, PCoE, PCIe, etc…

•Expertise in qualifying HBAs, solid state drives and storage subsystems.

•Being able to work cross platform, with Windows and Linux. This helps understand hybrid platform environment and thus help design considerations.

Nice to have:

•Working experience with Cisco UCS hardware Server technology.

•Vmware infrastructure experience.

•Basic understanding of Networks (VLAN,subnetting, routing and switching) (CCNA or equivalent experience).

•Strong hold on any database technology.

•Project Management experience.

•Willing to work under different technologies and take up new technology responsibilities outside the core skills.

•Skillful in working with various teams and advising projects on technology decisions in the capacity of a Tech Lead

•Capable of working under very dynamic environment and good presentation skills
