Voice Network Engineer

 

Location: Pleasanton OR Oakland CA

Duration: Long Term

Rate: Open

 

Skills required:

·         Good understanding of switching – VLAN, Voice VLAN, VTP, STP, PoE, Ether channel, QOS

·         Good understanding of Routing Protocols and Video Protocols ( H.323 and SIP)

·         Good troubleshooting experience in handling Cisco IP telephony and Video Network Infrastructure.

·         Good understanding of the Cisco Unified Communication (CUCM 9.x, 10.x)

·         Understanding of CORE concepts with IP Telephony, call setup process/flow, call signaling, call control and media capabilities exchange.

·         Good Understanding of Following Video Components.

o   TP Endpoints

o   VCS

o   MCU , TPS & TP Conductor

o   TMS

·         Knowledge of Crestron Room Systems would be an added advantage

·         Good ITIL Knowledge – Incident, Change & Configuration Management

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

• Monitoring of alarms and incident cases.

·         Monitor capacity, performance and availability using popular network tools and act to correct anomalies when needed.

·         Incident tracking to ensure continuity across shifts

·         Participate in Operational processes (Daily Ops, Change Control, Incident management, request for service, etc).

·         Adhering to defined SLAs

·         Handling tickets / requests

·         Troubleshooting Level 1 technical issues

·         Ensuring that defined processes are adhered to Report regularly concerning key counters and measures of the video network/infrastructure through health checks
