Location: New Albany, OH

Duration: 6+ Months/Fulltime

Rate: Market

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

•             6+ years of Linux administration, including SUSE, RedHat and Oracle Enterprise Linux.

•             VMware ESX administration.

•             Shell scripting.

•             Understanding of Unix best practices for secure builds in a large enterprise.

•             Knowledge of Unix security practices and how to implement systems without creating  vulnerabilities (privileged escalation or other kinds) to internal or external users.

•             Understanding of Software and Services lifecycle management and Change process.

•             Minimum 4 year degree required.

•             Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

•             Take ownership of customer service requests and manage them to closure.

 

 

Responsibilities

•             Executing change plans, updating configurations, collecting inventory, analyzing results, auditing compliance.

•             Build new systems and assist application owners with the installation and maintenance of their software.

•             Design and implement robust, secure, and highly available systems based on requirements provided by EBAs.

•             Day to day support of Unix systems and users.

•             Provide high level of customer satisfaction through the effective delivery of technical support and service.

•             Provide problem isolation and suggest resolution.

•             Serve in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

 

 

Other Desired Knowledge

•             Networking concepts including routing, firewalls and load balancing.

•             Java/J2EE applications, WebSphere, WebLogic, Oaracle Application Server, WebSphere MQ Series, and Tomcat.

•             Databases including Oracle RAC and DB2 UDB.

•             Puppet Enterprise

•             Splunk

•             SNMP and Orion Solarwinds

•             TEM / Bigfix

•             Veritas Cluster Server

•             Apache web server
