Job Description – Scrum Master

 

Position Information

Institute for Population Health Improvement, located in Sacramento, with working hours of 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

The Scrum Master will be responsible for or be part of a team responsible for completing the following tasks.

• Organize and facilitate release planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint planning, and other Scrum related meetings
• Create and implement Scrum rules and policies
• Ensure the development and integration teams are practicing Agile principles
• Update Agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product & sprint Backlogs.
• Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices
• Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the teams to deliver sprint goals
• Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
• Report on teams’ progress to project owners and stakeholders
• Track and communicate team velocity, sprint/release progress, and risks

Required Education and Experience

• Significant experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, playing the role of scrum master effectively
• Proven ability to influence and drive teams to success using Agile and Scrum practices
• Experience developing Service Oriented Architectures
• Experience performing code reviews and help develop solutions
• Experience with best practices for Quality Assurance.

Preferred Experience

• Scrum Master certification
• Java and Open Source development background
• Familiarity with healthcare systems or healthcare Information exchanges.
• Familiarity with Federal healthcare interoperability programs and frameworks.
