Role Summary
- The successful candidate will program manage the national roll-out of a metro-based electric vehicle (EV) fast charging network at high-profile public, retail-oriented locations. This includes development of fast charging amenities at malls, big box retailers, restaurants, fueling stations, hotels and mixed-use locations. The candidate will be a highly qualified program manager that will lead and oversee a number of vendors and contractors across various large metro areas to secure property, prepare, construct and commission EV charging sites. Responsibilities will include program management of partners and vendors, reviewing site eligibility, negotiating terms with property owners, project managing construction alongside Charging Operations field team, tracking and reporting progress and reporting KPIs.
- This candidate will manage project management software suite to accurately forecast and project schedules, monitor equipment inventory and delivery, manage daily project tasks, collect and evaluate documentation and close-out reports, and control project costs. They will coordinate and assign field team members, ensuring adherence to all project management protocols and processes.
- The candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with all project vendors, land owners, utilities, AHJs and other stakeholders. They will act as a source of expertise within the team, helping to accelerate program implementation through constant process improvement and sharing of best practices.
Role Responsibilities
- Leads all aspects of project management, planning and coordination of metro-based charging implementation plan. Organize and monitor a large number of inter-connected installation and construction projects from initial due diligence through completion and commissioning. (~20%)
- Supports Senior Manager in overseeing Charging Operations field team through training, managing and enforcing all project management policies and procedures related to the national metro charging plan. Assigns field team to individual projects and work collaboratively to ensure successful project completion (~20%)
- Oversees program vendors, services providers and contractors across various regions, ensuring adherence to program milestones, budget controls, productivity and quality standards (~15%)
- Travels frequently to conduct field site assessments of individual properties, negotiate terms with property owners, oversee vendor progress, meet with local stakeholders, and document evidence of project progress and quality control (10%)
- Assesses and tracks program performance via managing and updating tools, software and processes to ensure effective project management at all stages of program design, implementation and evaluation (~5%)
- Develops and prepares quarterly forecasts, budgets, work schedules, and implementation plans to EA management for approval (~5%)
- Aligns closely with Partnership Development team to effectively coordinate with city-level stakeholders such as workplaces, large commercial and residential property owners, fleet and ridesharing programs, utilities, planning departments, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and local policy-makers (~5%)
- Identifies potential bottlenecks in project execution and elevates to senior management for resolution. Develop guidelines and best practice to share across and primary vendors to accelerate future implementation activities (~5%)
- Manages equipment inventory, assigns different equipment types (L2, DCFC 50kW+) to individual projects based on use-case and need, track and account for all equipment delivery. Work closely with Technology Group to forecast equipment specification requirements and delivery needs (~5%)
- Manages allocated budget and complies with budget allocation and processes (~5%)
- Assumes responsibility for all close-out documentation from vendors and suppliers, review and track all QAQC requirements prior to vendor payment approval. Works closely with EA controllers to ensure alignment with auditing and accounting policies. Benchmarks project costs across vendors and regions to identify cost efficiency opportunities (~5%)
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience
- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
- Project Management Professional certifications
- Proven experience as a program/project manager
- Demonstrated record of precision & integrity in past work assignments
- Knowledge and understanding of construction management
- Extensive experience managing vendors and subcontractors
- Experience managing multimillion $ construction projects and related contracts
- Excellent understanding of project/program management techniques and methods

- Up to 50% travel required
