Hadoop Developer

 

Location: Cupertino, CA

Duration: 6+ Months

Rate: Market

 

Responsibilities:

·      Partner with technical leads and managers on project needs

·      Work with functional team/ Frameworks team to understand requirements and translate them to technical specifications

·      Perform PoC's. Use his or her extensive experience to demonstrate solutions, best practices etc

·      Perform analysis and design pertinent to the requirements and provide solution approaches

·      Collaborate with Business, PM, and other technology team

·      Serves as the conduit between the offshore and the onsite teams

·      Architect, Design, Develop Applications and/Or Frameworks using Hadoop & Hive Frameworks

·      Perform Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing and implementation, Support activities.

·      Perform Unit and Integration Testing Activities  

·      Develop and maintain project documentation including technical specification, unit test plans, presentations, user documentations and training materials

Mandatory Skills:

·      Master level experience with large scale Hadoop environments build and support including design, configuration, installation, capacity planning, capacity management, and performance tuning/monitoring/alerting/self-healing



·      Hands-on experience with the overall Hadoop eco-system (Cascade, Pig/Hive, HDFS, Map Reduce, Zookeeper, Hbase etc

·      Knowledge and experience with parallel ETL tools
- Experience developing large-scale system software. Participated in the entire product life cycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.


·      Strong development experience in Java and Linux environment, Scripting languages etc

·      Tech Skills include –Hadoop Stack ((Cascade, Pig/Hive, HDFS, Map Reduce, Zookeeper, Hbase_, Java, Unix etc

·      Excellent SQL Skills especially on Hive

·      Experience in working directly with technology team

·      Should be very Analytical with ability understand and interpret the business data

·      Strong oral and written communication including ability to create Keynote/PowerPoint presentations 

·      Team player (very important) and be able to work independently with little supervision.

·      Experience in working with onsite-offshore teams

Preferred Skills:

·      Experience in one or more of Sales, Finance, Retail and CRM domains

·      Experience in Teradata, BI Domain and Tools

 

Qualification

·      Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or Engineering with relevant industry experience
