Job Description

For applications being developed and ongoing maintenance of the software, conduct thorough requirements and design reviews and gain an understanding of the functional and non-functional testing requirements. Participate in entire testing lifecycle, including test planning, test preparation, test execution and defect management. Specifically, learn to formulate and execute test cases to determine if the application under test is ready for production.

Essential Functions

·         Follow established processes, perform and document test activities for assigned work within agreed upon schedules.

·         Develop estimates for the testing effort.

·         Plan for the testing effort by reviewing and understanding the requirements.

·         Produce test plans that encompasses all the requirements (in detail) as stated in the requirement artifacts.

·         Ensure all test cases are stored in the Quality Center.

·         Responsible for setting up test data.

·         Conduct tests and report the results.

·         Manage defects in the Defect Tracker and provide reports as required.

·         Develop test plans and reports that are clear, concise, and convey all necessary information to make informed project and deployment decisions.

·         Facilitate the review of project test plans.

·         Prioritize test cases based on priority of requirements.

 

Job Requirements

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

·         College level coursework within area of responsibility, or equivalent level of skill through on-the-job training, experience and seminars

·         Minimum 1-2 years application testing and or equivalent application knowledge

·         Basic understanding of test methodologies and testing processes

·         Familiarity with SoapUI, Selenium or JBehave is a plus.

·         General understanding of software deployment practices and tools

·         Basic understanding of test methodologies and testing processes

·         Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

·         Excellent interpersonal skills conducive to working in a team environment across all skill levels and departments
