1. Technology breadth: Understand a spectrum of enterprise technologies spanning client-server, web, middleware, DB, security, system-I and AS 400.

2. Architecture: Well versed in various architectural patterns around application, data and integration. Infrastructure architecture is definitely a plus. Conversant with architecting high volume supply chain applications, including performance engineering and tuning.

3. Domain: Experience in current and emerging supply chain processes relevant to large-scale retail businesses covering areas of OMS/ WMS / TMS / Inventory Management/ Sourcing/ Demand and Supply Planning/RFID. Experience in implementation of various fulfillment models relevant to retail industry including support for cross channel processes is a must

4. Application package: Experience of one or more Supply Chain packages like JDA (PMM, D&F, IDEAS and Size Scaling) or Manhattan is a must. Knowledge on SAS or JDE platforms is desirable. Evaluate various packages and to identify the right package that meets the business requirements and present recommendations to the customer team.

5. Work Experience: Should have worked on at least three supply chain initiatives within retail, including one Omni-Channel initiative is desirable. Experience working with products that touch supply chain such as CRM products, ERP products, EAI tools, Merchandising systems, point of sale products, payment processing applications, tax calculation packages etc

6. Design and development:

    a. familiarity with best practices around patterns, code quality, testing etc

    b. Should be able to define/review high level and low level component/class design model

    c. Responsible to execute Proof-of-concepts with the support of a development team

    d. Actively support (code reviews, pair programming etc) development team during coding phase

    e. Conversant with usage of tools used for design and development (IBM Rational Tools like RSA, RAD, Eclipse etc)

    f. Conversant with use of other tools like JIRA, CVS etc is necessary

    g. Knowledgable in configuration management, build, deploy and release processes

7. Software engineering: Well versed with various methodologies spanning conventional SDLC methods to lean/agile techniques.

8. Cross-geography & cross-cultural teams: Working experience is a must, North America experience is added advantage

9. Vendor Collaboration: Should work with the platform vendor like IBM/JDA/ Manhattan/ Oracle /JDE etc and resolve critical issues in the project

10. Capacity Sizing and Planning: Should be knowledgable of sizing methodology for production and staging environments on different server, OS and hardware platforms. Should be able to support teams to setup, configure, run and monitor the infrastructure

11. Working experience with legacy system will be an added advantage.

12. Exceptional communication and inter-personal skills is a must.
