Operations Risk Management

 

Location: New York, NY

Duration: Fulltime

Salary: Market

 

Key Responsibilities:

-              Conduct Risk Assessments of major business initiatives, new products and strategies to ensure appropriate controls are implemented

-              Identify research, evaluate, and/or resolve Risk issues impacting the business including Sarbanes Oxley / Model Audit Rule.

-              Review and analyze processes for compliance with regulatory requirements including Sarbanes Oxley / Model Audit Rule.

-              Apply operational risk management techniques including, but not limited to: Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Scenario Analysis, Loss Event Reporting, Model Risk Management, including validation.

-              Proactively monitor and trend business processes.

-              Conduct control reviews or gap analyses for existing processes, as needed, and ensure identified gaps are addressed.

-              Travel up to 25% may be required based on client requests/commitments.

 

Educational Qualifications & Work Experience:

 

-              2 - 5 years’ work experience, preferably in the areas of Risk Management, Finance, Capital Management, or Investment Management

-              Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting and / or Business Administration

-              Professional Certification such as CIA, CPA or FRM is preferred, but not required

 

Skills required:

 

-              Ability to identify operational risk issues and advise on risk mitigation eg Risk Control Self Assessments implementation, Risk Events, Data Privacy Breaches and Resiliency

-              Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

-              Analytical mindset with the ability to approach issues in a logical and critical manner

-              Ability to deal with multiple tasks and requests in a fast paced and evolving environment

-              Willingness to contribute in a team environment

-              Computer/data proficiency with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new and proprietary applications

-              Self-starter with ability to multi-task and work effectively under a dynamic environment with limited direction

-              Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of the Risk Management team

-              Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
