ETL Developer with Ab Initio

 

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Duration: 6+ Months

Rate: Market

 

Must have skills:

• 5+ years ETL development using Ab Initio / SQL / DB2 on Linux / Shell Scripting

 

Nice to have skills:

• Hadoop

 

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required
• 8-10 years’ experience required

 

Responsibility level

• Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor

 

Skills

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
• Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)
• Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
• Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery (Required)
• Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
• Strong knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software (Required)
• Strong knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, ETL development using Ab Initio, Hadoop is required
• Knowledge of Database development using DB2 on Linux, job scheduling using enterprise schedulers, Unix scripting is required.
• Experience of high volume data processing using ETL technologies is required

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enhancements and maintenance to existing ETL based functionality developed in Ab Initio.
• Develop, debug and support parameterized and rule driven ETL processing using Ab Initio.
• Data analysis of large data-sets and testing of complex data driven pipeline using these data-sets
• Triage production problems, resolve data inconsistencies and provide L3 support for the application as required
